Freedom To Heal

Holistic healing to transform wellbeing

Hello, my name is Iris, and this is a little bit about Freedom to heal. Freedom to heal was developed from my love and passion to holistic healing for animals and people alike, supporting them in achieving optimum wellbeing.

I have witnessed and experienced the power of various natural healing modalities for people and animals over the years, especially where modern medicine had reached its limits. I am in awe that there seems to be no limits to the power of healing experienced by the individual, weather human or animal, with alternative holistic healing methods. My connection to animals and the natural world has always been part of my life.

I have experienced how the human- animal connection can benefit the wellbeing of both. I believe our pets (great and small) share a special bond with us, so when they are unwell, we are unwell and vice versa. This understanding led me to study and learn about animal behaviour and developing a mixed skillset in complementary healing, for animals and people.

I studied a variety of natural healing modalities for people like Naturopathy, including Nutrition, Herbal Medicine and Swedish massage. Then studied Veterinary Nursing and gained my formal qualifications as listed.

•    Diploma in Equine Myofunctional Therapy
•    QTTP – Qualified Therapeutic Touch Practitioner
•    Certificate III in Dog Training and Behaviour
•    Certificate II in Animal Studies

I have worked in various customer service professions, including International Travel Consultancy, Veterinary Receptionist, Customer Experience Officer at the Werribee Zoo, Veterinary Nurse assistant and Dog trainer. In my spare time I volunteered for animal shelters and as a wildlife rescuer/carer.

My learning is a lifelong pursuit and I continue furthering my knowledge attending, webinars, seminars and workshops.

I care about you and your animal’s wellbeing and bring my compassion and knowledge to support you and/or your animal in achieving optimum wellbeing.

Therapeutic Touch

Therapeutic Touch (TT) is a contemporary energy healing modality. Therapeutic Touch was developed and practice at first for Nurses and Healthcare professionals in the USA and Canada but is now available almost all over the world and can be enjoyed by everyone.

TT is based on the principle that everything has energy and therefore its own vibrational pattern. When a living organism is healthy, its energy vibrational pattern is in balance. When the same organism is distressed or sick, its vibrational pattern is distorted or imbalanced. Our human/animal body is a living organism and therefore has the same balanced or imbalanced patterns.

With Therapeutic Touch Therapy we are able to bring these disrupted or distorted energy patterns back into balance and therefore will assist the body’s own healing response. Therapeutic Touch is a gentle, non-invasive therapy delivered with compassion, intention to heal and respect for the individual need. Everyone will respond slightly different to a treatment because we (all living beings) are unique.

Some of the most reported health benefits are:

  • Deep relaxation response
  • Accelerated wound healing
  • Reduction of pain
  • Lowering of anxiety levels
  • Stabilizing blood pressure
  • Better Sleep
  • Better able to concentrate

Dog Behaviour and Training

In my service as dog trainer, I use positive reinforcement methods I tailor my lessons to you and your dog’s living circumstances and needs.

I offer a family friendly training, which means all members of the family can be included in the training program, for the best possible results. I will teach you how to train your dog, so it best fits into your lifestyle.

Dog training is for all dogs all ages. However, it is best to teach your dog from a young age, because his/hers learning capabilities are at their best. It is easier to train a desired behaviour, then correct an already established undesirable behaviour.

Some of the dog behaviours your dog will be taught are:

  • Responding to their name
  • Coming to you when called
  • Sit, drop, lie down on command
  • How to play with toys and give them back to you
  • How to interact positively with other animals

I strive to teach you in a way that is easy to follow and understand.
